Zilkiffal Ali is currently studying at the University of Alberta in his third year of electrical engineering co-op! He joined the AlbertaSat team in Spring of 2024 and is currently apart of the admin team. His responsibilities involve creating and updating new articles, occasionally conducting interviews with senior members to gather insights into past projects. The main reason he joined was that a friend recommended he become a member of AlbertaSat.

While he isn’t currently pursuing a career in the aerospace community, he was inspired by the dedication of his peers when joining the club. He found that nearly everyone in the group takes their education and skill-building seriously, and being surrounded by such individuals motivated him to improve his work ethic and rethink what true competency means.

During his time in AlbertaSat, he discovered that paraphrasing information was a valuable skill he developed. Zilkiffal explains that when speaking with senior members about their experiences in AlbertaSat, he receives an immense amount of information. As a result, he has learned to paraphrase technical details in a way that even a child could understand, ensuring that his articles are accessible to the entire public.

Although he is busy with school and securing a co-op term, he hopes to complete his article-writing to-do list, as there are still many members to interview and articles to write. As new members join each semester, Zilkiffal believes the best advice he can give them is to consistently attend meetings. Being a familiar face within the group makes it much easier to connect and communicate with fellow members!
